April 2001 The governor of Stavropol Krai, Alexander Chernogorov, and his delegation spent Thursday, April 26th in Osage. Delegation members were: Ioury Tyrtychov, Minister of Communal Construction Industry , Nikolai Kovalev , Minister of Environmental Protection, Petr Fedossov, Head of Cossack Community , Anatoli Tartychev, Governor's Press Secretary, and Yury Prachev, Assistant to the Governor. The delegation was hosted at a luncheon at the Maple Inn, toured Osage's wastewater treatment plant, Fox River Mills, and attended a reception at Debbie's Café. This is the governor's second visit to Iowa in four years. He is currently serving his second five year term. The governor said he hopes "for more exchanges and delegations visits" between Iowa and the Krai "to better understand and to communicate with each other." "I wish to see the (sister state) relations grow each year, so that our grandchildren can enjoy such meetings in Iowa and Russia." More photos of the delegation visit.
