Apprentice Electric Generation Operator/Technician
Osage Municipal Utilities has an opening for this full-time position. Preferred applicants will have work experience in a power plant, completion of an approved correspondence course or formal technical training, graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of the principles of electricity, power plant operations, wind turbines and solar arrays preferred.
This position will assist in controlling, monitoring and maintaining the generation equipment and control center in the OMU power plant, as well as the OMU wind turbine and community solar farm.
Residency within the OMU service area is strongly preferred. The candidate must have a valid Iowa driver’s license. Starting wage is dependent on qualifications and is negotiable. Excellent benefit package. Pre-employment drug screening and background check required. EOE.
